FGB is a weird and wonderful action odyssey for the Game Boy Color. Developed between 1999 and 2001 by Abe Pralle and Jacob Stevens of Plasma Works, it is a hack 'n slash that was planned for release on the Game Boy Color but was ultimately cancelled when the studio could not find a publisher to fund it. Years later the team released their own prototype online so it could be preserved by the community. This is a reproduction cartridge of that prototype build. Gameplay: Imagine a mix between Gauntlet, Robotron and Zelda, featuring co-op multiplayer over the Game Boy link cable, 128 levels and 50 different monsters to battle through your adventure. Origins: FGB was started in 1999 by college friends Abe Pralle, Jacob Stevens and Martin Casado. It was loosely based on a game called "Flour" that Martin had created with input and art from Abe. The new game was designed for Game Boy Color thanks to Jacob's fondness for Nintendo, and so they named it "Flour Game Boy", or "FGB". FGB and Flour were both partly inspired by Crossroads for the Commodore 64, a type-in game published in COMPUTE!'s Gazette magazine.
