Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon is a spin-off of Namco's acclaimed "Tales" RPG series, originally released for the Game Boy Color in Japan in 2000. This cartridge runs an English fan-translation patch, noted as a partial translation: menus, story text and dialogue are presented in English while some elements remain in their original Japanese.
Story: The adventure follows the young twins Dio and Mel, who are pulled into a journey across time and dungeons after a mysterious event upends their peaceful life. Along the way they meet familiar faces from the wider Tales of Phantasia world.
Gameplay: A console-style RPG built around the series' signature real-time Linear Motion Battle System, paired with a "narikiri" (dress-up/job) mechanic that lets characters take on different classes and abilities by equipping costumes. Players explore towns and themed dungeons, manage party members and gear, and progress through an item- and class-driven combat system.
