Sutte Hakkun GB is an unreleased, cancelled Nintendo title for the Game Boy that was preserved and made playable on a reproduction cartridge. The game was never officially announced or released; its ROM surfaced as part of the 2020 Nintendo "Gigaleak". The build dates to August 17, 1998, with the leaked ROM file dated November 21, 1998, and it featured Super Game Boy enhancements. This version is a port of the first Satellaview release of Sutte Hakkun rather than the Super Famicom game. Instead of a straight conversion, it offers entirely new puzzles, settings, music and characters, including a formerly unused bird (seen in the ending of the earlier Sutte Hakkun GB) and a mysterious wizard. The design philosophy of turning a port into an essentially new game is comparable to the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong. Like the earlier 1996 Sutte Hakkun GB, this 1999-era project was ultimately shelved before completion.
