Éclat Pourpre V2: a French-made FireRed adventure that starts with a stolen Hoothoot
Pokémon Version Éclat Pourpre is a French-language fan game built on the FireRed engine by Mickey and Myst. Its first version appeared in late 2015, and in June 2018 Mickey announced a "V2" on the French community forum Pokémon Trash. That announcement was clear about the scope: no new region and no new plot, but several new cities, reworked routes and a hunt for the remaining bugs, with players invited to send feedback and ideas.
The story opens in the player's bedroom. After choosing a starter, Team Rocket takes a Hoothoot, the last memento the family has of the player's father, and the hero swears revenge in a region that is never named. A French review published in April 2020 praised the graphics and the length of the adventure, and noted that V2 had eased the difficulty and grinding of the first release, fixed most progress-blocking bugs and lowered the encounter rate.

Know before you play
Version 1 had a reputation for brutal Gym Leaders and a lot of farming; the V2 revisions were aimed squarely at that. The cartridge lists a "v2 fixed" build alongside the base file.
