Metal Slug (Terrifying 9.11) - Game Boy Color Port Yes, you read that right: Metal Slug on a Game Boy Color. "Terrifying 9.11" is a game credited to Hitek and released in the early 2000s. It never appeared in the official Game Boy catalog; it is a fangame. The game is actually a very good GBC port of Metal Slug. The prevailing theory among fans is that an official port was once in production but failed, and the resulting code leaked (or was perhaps even sold) to Hitek to do with as they pleased. Hitek (also known as Gaoke) was a Chinese company that released several Game Boy games developed by Ruanxin, a team made up of ex-Waixing staff, some of whom would later go on to work for Jungletac. In short, they produced a lot of unlicensed games back in the day. This is probably the most infamous unlicensed Game Boy game in existence: a wildly tasteless presentation hiding an EXTREMELY faithful port (except for the music) of the original Metal Slug. It is a world away from those Sintax/BBD "Metal Slug" titles, which are basically generic run-and-gun platformers using sprites from the NGPC Metal Slug games; this is an actual port of the actual Neo Geo game. It is a real treat to be able to play Metal Slug on such an old console with so many limitations. The game is in English.
