Legend of the Sea King is the English localization of Umi no Nushi Tsuri 2, a fishing RPG developed by Victor Interactive / Natsume for the Game Boy. The game was prepared for a US release as "Legend of the Sea King" but was ultimately shelved and never officially released in English. A complete build of this cancelled localization surfaced in the September 2020 Nintendo lotcheck leaks, making the title playable in English for the first time.
Story / Gameplay: Set in a seaside town, you take on the role of a young angler who explores beaches, rivers and the open sea, catching and raising fish while taking part in turn-based fishing battles against the creatures of the deep. It blends classic RPG progression with the relaxed fishing-life formula of Natsume's "River King" series.
