Carnivalé is a cancelled Game Boy Color game based on the obscure animated movie of the same name. Similar to the Nintendo 64 version, the objective is to rescue your friends by winning Micro Machines-style races.
Story: Carnivalé: Cenzo's Adventure follows a travelling circus with a dark, sinister twist. You control one of five kids at a time and try to escape from the carnival, dueling one of the carnivale masters as each kid to earn your freedom.
The game was likely scrapped because the movie only got a limited release in Europe and never reached the United States. A build surfaced in the 2020 Game Boy Nintendo lotcheck leak, suggesting it was nearly or fully finished (by comparison, the N64 version is said to have been only 50-60% complete when it was cancelled). Thanks to this find, you can now enjoy this lost game on your Game Boy Color. This is a reproduction cartridge of the unreleased prototype, playable in English.
